Terms of use

Last updated: November 8, 2026

By using engineclue.com you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

General information, not professional advice

Engineclue explains car problems, maintenance and costs in general terms. It is not a mechanical inspection, a diagnosis of your car, or legal, financial or insurance advice. Cars differ by make, model, year and condition, and only someone who can see your car can tell you what is wrong with it.

If your car feels unsafe (brakes, steering, tires, overheating, a smell of fuel or smoke), stop driving and call a breakdown service or a qualified mechanic. Always follow your owner's manual and the law where you live.

Accuracy and corrections

We research every article from named sources and show when it was last reviewed (see our editorial policy). Even so, prices change, rules change and mistakes happen. If you find an error, email and we'll check it and correct the page.

Tools give estimates only

The symptom checker, cost of ownership calculator, service interval tracker and warning-light finder give rough, general estimates from the figures you enter and typical values. They can't see your car. Don't rely on them for safety decisions, purchases or repairs without checking with a professional.

Ads and affiliate links

The site shows ads from Google and may contain affiliate links (see how we make money and the affiliate disclosure). We aren't responsible for the products, prices or policies of advertisers and shops you visit from the site. Your purchase is between you and the seller.

Content ownership

The text, tools, illustrations and design of Engineclue belong to its owner unless marked otherwise. You may link to any page and quote short passages with a link back. Please don't copy whole articles or republish the site's content without permission.

Liability

We provide the site as it is, without guarantees that it is complete, current or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for loss or damage from using or relying on the site, including repair costs, damage to a vehicle or injury. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can't be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and using the site after a change means you accept the new terms. Questions: .
